中学・高校時代に英語、フランス語、ドイツ語を学ぶ。大学では、ドイツ文学を専攻。
大学在学時にミュンヘンオリンピックドイツ政府の支援団メンバーに選ばれ参加。
一人一人が世界で活躍できる力を持ち、世界中の人と出会い交流すれば、世界は一つになるのだということをオリンピックという独特の雰囲気の中で感じる。また、それには英語は不可欠だと感じる。
大学を卒業後、大手企業で翻訳や通訳の仕事に就くが、翻訳や通訳という仕事には、オリジナリティを発揮できる場がないことを実感。その後外国人に日本語を教える日本語学校の教師を経験。教えるということが面白くなる。
転職し、小さな学習塾で小学生や中学生に英語を教えはじめる。子供の能力を開発する事がおもしろくなり夢中で過ごすが、あえなくその塾は閉鎖。
その後、別の学習塾に転職。英語だけでなく国語や社会も教えられるということから、多くの活躍の場を与えられる。
初めて高校１年生から指導した生徒の９０％が、一橋、早慶大などの難関大学に現役合格を果たし、難関大学現役合格への道筋が見え、戦略を立てる能力があることに気が付く。また、難関大学突破力は、好きなことを仕事にできる力につながると直感。
その後大手学習塾からの勧誘でその高校生部門に転職するが、一人一人の生徒と向き合い、世界で活躍できる高校生を育てるために独立を決意。
１９８８年にクラウンアカデミー（大学受験予備校・高校生のための難関大学進学塾）を創立。高校生に好きなこと・得意分野・今後の人生の方向付けをみつけてもらうお手伝いをする。
１９８８年から２７年にわたり、横浜市や茨城県で少人数制・個別型予備校・学習塾を経営。京大、東工大、筑波大などの国公立大から早慶上智大などの現役合格実績を多数つくりあげた。
この２７年間で、３，０００人以上の高校生と毎日密度の高い時間を一緒に過ごしてきました。面倒見がよく何でも相談しやすいと評価を得ています。
卒業生の多くは、得意分野で世界を飛び回って活躍中です。
これまでの経験を活かし、脳科学、心理学、選択理論やフォトリーディングなどのアプローチ方法を用いて、現在のニーズに合わせ世界中にいる日本人の高校生に、世界で活躍できる能力を伸ばすプログラムを提供しています。
My name is Yoko Kondo. I was born in Tokyo but I’ve lived in many other parts of Japan. Now I live in Ibaraki prefecture. I have lived here for 15 years.
When I was younger, I worked as a translator and interpreter. However, despite wanting to be a translator or interpreter, I quit my job as I felt the need to develop my creative abilities at that time.

These days I run my own prep school. I’ve been running the prep school for 28 years, I teach senior high school students English, Japanese and history. I have over 30 years experience teaching at prep schools.
I would have had a lot of opportunity to speak English had I continued working as an interpreter. Instead, I have focused on teaching English. I have been teaching English well for a few decades and now I’m sure that I can read and write English better than I can speak English. I don’t speak English so fluently now, but I’ve been teaching myself for many years how to write in English like a native speaker.
In 2013, I went to Singapore to learn how to write academic essays in English because one of my family members lives there. In 2015, I made my fourth visit to Singapore. This time I learned how to write about world history and comparative culture in English. I chose the same English teacher that taught me in 2013, and she was kind enough to teach me English writing skills.
I would like to write a blog which is read by people all over the world. I would love to communicate with the readers of my blog, and I’d encourage people to share my blog. I’m enthusiastic to exchange ideas with people from all countries, and hope to inspire people to visit Japan.
